Lesson 41

Lesson 41 - Wish You Were Here (2)

Wish You Were Here (Part 2)

Lesson Goals:

♦ Review C, D, Am and G chords
♦ Learn to play verses
♦ Review Intro and put together with verses to play complete song

In this lesson you will learn the verses for "Wish You Were Here". This will be much easier than the intro so if you have already mastered the last lesson then this one will be a breeze!

The chords in the verses are C, D, Am and G so take a moment to review them. Now let's look at the chart below.

As you can see, the first part of the chart is the intro section that we did in Lesson 40. Immediately following that is the verse section of the song starting on the "C" chord.

Start out by going over just the verse section and getting familiar with it. Then put it all together into the complete song.

Lesson 41 Summary

Make sure you have the intro section worked out before attempting the verses. Then put it all together and play the complete song. It just basically repeats itself. Have fun!

Jam Tip!

If you listen to a copy of the original song you may notice that the guitar in the intro sounds a little "different" than the guitar you are playing. That is because the song was recorded on a 12 string guitar. In case you are not familiar with a 12 string guitar, they are set up with 6 "pairs" of strings and each pair is tuned just like a regular 6 string guitar. The difference is that, each pair consists of 2 strings that are "octaves" of each other.
