A login form is provided on the AdultGuitarLessons.com home page for your convenience. When you enter your user ID and password you will be directed to your Full Access Members page.

From here you can access links to your Beginner Guitar Lessons, Intermediate Guitar Lessons and Lead Guitar 101 courses, as well as the Cool Lick Series. These links will take you to a "list" of available lessons or Cool Licks. You can control the number of items displayed in this list with the drop-down box, or filter your results if you are searching for something in particular. Simply click on the Guitar Lesson or Cool Lick that you want to go to.

Links are also provided to access "My Account", where you can edit your profile and change your password. There is also a link to the "Lessons Help Desk", as well as one to the "Tutorials" section.

In addition, you can access our online guitar tuner page from the "Tuner" link on the "My Quick Links" menu on the right hand side of your Full Access Members page. It is always a good idea to tune up before each session. (Note: The tuner page will open in a new window so you don't lose your place)

As you progress into the Guitar Lessons and/ or the Cool Licks section of the site you will see a "breadcrumbs" trail at the top bar on each lesson page which will allow you to navigate back to the previous page you were on, or back to your Full Access Members page.

On each individual lesson you will see a "Need Help?" button which will take you to the "Lessons Help Desk". Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or problems. There is also a "Log out" link provided on each lesson page.

If you should navigate away from the Members area into a "public" section of the site, you can always get back to your Full Access Members page by clicking on the "My Lessons" link on the top menu, upper right portion of the page. This link is only activated when you are logged in.

When logging out you may be sent to a re-direct page. This page will have a link you can  click on to return to the AdultGuitarLessons.com Home Page.

Getting Started

If you are starting on the guitar completely from scratch, we would highly recommend that you take a moment and review some of the tutorials prior to beginning your first lesson. A few of the Tutorials that will be of particular use to you initially will be:

Tuning the Guitar

Hold to Hold the Guitar

How to Hold the Pick

Reading Chord Diagrams

How to Read TAB

Reading Music Charts

Fret and Finger Numbering

Although there is a lot of useful information in the Tutorials that you should get familiar with, the above topics will get you started quickly, and will help you progress through the initial lessons much more smoothly.

When you get ready to start your guitar lessons, we recommend that you start with Beginner Lesson 1, and proceed from there. The lessons are designed to be taken sequentially, so try to avoid skipping over any of them, otherwise important concepts or topics may be missed. Even if you are already familiar with some guitar concepts, you may still want to start with Lesson 1, as there may be some topics covered that you were unaware of.

The Lessons

Within each lesson you will find the following sections:

Video - A video is provided for each lesson and Cool Lick. The lesson videos not only demonstrate how to play the lesson topic, but also explain various concepts and techniques in detail. (Note: A high speed Internet connection is recommended for the videos. Depending on your connection speed, you may have to wait several minutes for you video to load, so please be patient)

Note: For viewing the videos with a Mac you may need this Flash converter from Adobe (it's free):

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/adobeflashplayer.html

Lesson Body - The body of each lesson will contain Lesson Goals, a text description of the lesson topic and concepts, chord diagrams, music charts and TABs, when applicable. It is recommended that you become familiar with the information in the body of the lesson prior to viewing the video.

Illustrations - When neccessary - chord diagrams, TAB's, music charts and color pictures are provided to assist in understanding techniques and concepts.

Jam Tip - Most lessons include a "Jam Tip" with supplemental information regarding the lesson topic or concept.

Summary - The lesson Summary will provide an overview of the lesson topic and review expected accomplishments for each lesson.

Help

Help is never far away. Each lesson includes a "Need Help?" link to the lessons help desk. In the event you have any questions or are having difficulty with a lesson, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Wrap Up

There are a number of song progressions taught in this course in order to demonstrate "real world" guitar playing examples, and to make your learning experience more rewarding. Although we provide instructions on playing various songs, we are unable to provide recordings of the actual songs due to copyright laws. If you would like to listen to the original recordings we would recommend visiting YouTube. Most any song you would care to listen to can be found there.

Every effort has been made to make this the most easy and comprehensive guitar learning course possible. We are confident that you will be playing guitar very quickly if you invest the time in practice and expanding your knowledge. If you ever encounter any difficulties, have questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Here's to your guitar playing success!

Best Regards,

Keith Dean
